Rob A. Rutenbar is the Abel Bliss Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science (CS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is an affiliate Professor in ECE at Illinois, and a member of the Coordinated Sciences Lab. He is also an Adjunct Professor of ECE at CMU.
Our group develops novel silicon architectures for challenging problems in machine perception and big-data analytics, and novel methods to manage the difficult statistics of nanoscale silicon designs.
Our book chapter, “Mobile Speech Hardware: The Case for Custom Silicon” is out in the new book from Wiley, Speech in Mobile and Pervasive Environments, edited by our IBM colleagues Nitendra Rajput and Amit Anil Nanavati. It’s available from Amazon here
Congratulations to former research group members Patrick Bourke and Zhong Xiu, who have new positions in exciting places. Patrick has joined the Exascale team at Intel in Portland. And Zhong has joined the search quality team at Google in Mountain View. We wish them well in their new roles.
