RUTENBAR JOINS NATIONAL ACADEMIES STUDY ON DATA SCIENCE DISCIPLINE
December. 12, 2016 – The US National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine has charged a study group to set forth a vision for the emerging discipline of data science at the undergraduate level. Rutenbar is a member of this new study group, chaired by Laura Haas of IBM and Alfred O. Hero III of U. Michigan. The committee comprises a select group of thought leaders in data science, computing, and statistics from academia and data-centric industries, and leading educators who teach data-themed topics to students, and also those who hire and employ those students.
